Daniel Bell of Stockport = Scum

“Daniel Bell, A 30-year-old man from Stockport who was caught “red handed” coming out of the looted Maplin electrical store carrying a Macmillan Cancer charity box containing £50, was one of many of the cases dealt with by district judge Alan Berg.”

If I had my way, Daniel Bell would be forcibly removed from Britain and taken to Afghanistan. Once there, Mr. Bell would learn a valuable new trade; mine clearance!

I genuinely wished that Britain still enjoyed the tradition of public humiliation!

I would rather like the opportunity to throw rotten vegetables at people who have been convicted of rioting; let them consider how pathetic we all think they are whilst they languish in the stocks!

Croydon Riots

Croydon was ransacked last night, raped and pillaged it was; not by Vikings,I might add, but by mindless groups of thugs and looters.

Sven, Thor and Olaf were apparently replaced by Jay, Jay, J, Ricky, Mohammad and Jamal.

I found it slightly amusing that there was a queue of looters outside JD Sports in one town; even looting in the UK is carried out in an orderly fashion!?!

One muppet even stopped to push the request button and waited for the ‘green man’ at a pedestrian crossing before going across the street to break into a shop!!!

BBC news focused unnecessarily on the ethnicity of those involved. It looked like everyone was involved last night; not just one group of the Human Resources tick sheet.

Seeing part of Reeves Corner going up in a raging inferno live on the news is something that I’ll never forget; nor the subsequent telephone call from the owner who sounded suicidal.

They even hit Rock Bottoms! Rock bloody Bottoms! Couldn’t believe the scenes down in West Croydon; I felt gutted seeing the windows all put through, thousands of pounds of musical equipment appeared to be gone. Must get on eBay later….

All joking aside, it was sickening to see it all happening, although I’m surprised that something like this has not happened sooner.

There is a rotten, scummy under-culture in this country and I think it is growing and becoming more commonplace.

We are expected to believe that the criminal activity in and around London is retaliation for a guy who was shot by police in Tottenham; I think that’s utter bollocks personally.

“Get the Army out in the streets!” is a popular opinion. What Army?! They’re all in the Middle East!!

It’s a dire situation that I think will get worse tonight with the Police facing a fourth night of rioting; wonder how long it will be before gangs of vigilantes are keeping the streets safe?

Selsey – Revisited (again)

Popped to Selsey again, was really different going by car this time rather than by the bike!………different in a good way though.

Going by car meant that I was able to relax and take everything in a lot more; whereas on the bike you begin to ache a little after about an hour and are generally a lot more fearful of potholes and the chance that you’ll get ambushed by a Deer with a deathwish at any time!

Selsey was SO quiet as well, it felt a bit odd to tell you the truth.  I think the videos I have attached below show that!

As always, the Riviera Restaurant (Rivvy!!!) was great value for money, although even the Rivvy was quiet (you NEVER saw an empty table back in the day!).

Alresford, Hampshire

Alresford is a lovely little town about 2 miles outside of Winchester, full of delightful tea rooms, shops and places of Medieval interest.

I saw a documentary on it quite recently; showing how Winchester and the towns surrounding it would import brick and slate from Bruges.  I really loved going to Bruges; the similarities between the cities is astounding.  Suppose it makes sense in that they used the same construction supplies and techniques?

My favourite thing about Alresford is the old Pulmans Railway; you can book up a steam train ride for a reasonable price, I had a quick look around on the platform and enjoyed seeing the old signal tower still in operation before the train chugged away.

The river Arle or Arle (from whence the town getsthiths nameth ‘Olde English speak’) runs around the outskirt of the town, you can see sizeable Trout in the clear waters as you head down alongside it.  There were also some lovely thatch roof cottages down there too which reminded me of Selsey!

Cheeks Versus the Walmart toy

I picked Mr. Cheeks up a toy whilst out in the States; Walmart has a funky section for pets, then again it has a funky section for everything usually!

Here’s some footage of him in the garden, complete with guest commentary by Mum.

Sonic – America’s Drive-in Restaurant

Sonic burgers are amazing.

I think I’ve spoken before about my love for going to Sonic.  It’s old fashioned, you can drive up, hit the telecom button, tell someone what you want and they bring it out on rollerskates!

Well, normally they do.  One poor guy made the fatal mistake of bringing out the wrong sandwich to Amy; and he got reminded about EXACTLY what should have been in her choice!

Sub Zero Ice Cream

After bowling, Whitney,  Brett’s delightful young lady, suggested that we go to a place called ‘Sub Zero’ for some unique ice cream!

Sub Zero was like something out of Charlie and the Chocolate factory; they use liquid nitrogen to cryogenically fast-freeze their products.

I had the cherry flavour (no surprises there) but you could have absolutely anything you liked.

My verdict – Sub Zero, wins.

Ten Pin Bowling – US Style

Back in the nineties; I loved to go bowling in Kansas.

There would be a resident DJ, belting out tunes until the early hours whilst I ate burgers and watched with fascination as the rednecks strutted their stuff!

It was great to go bowling on my recent trip with my extended family; we had two lanes between us all (about 10 of us went) and I quickly settled back into my hick mindset.  I hasten to add here that my extended family are not hicks, just me.

The dynamic of the bowling alley changed suddenly about 20 minutes into the game; all of a sudden, the lights dimmed, on came the rock music accompanied by strobe and neon lights that lit up the place; the pins glowed waiting to be smashed down!

If only UK Bowling alleys were as fun!
